Let me start my first ever blog with an introduction to me and what I hope to achieve by writing a regular family history blog.
My name is Paul Chiddicks and I would like to welcome you to my Family blog and hope that you find this blog both interesting and informative. I am 53 years old and have been researching my tree, on and off, for the last fifteen years. I live in Cheshire with my wife and two grown up children and have been living in leafy Cheshire for around 20 years. Before this, I spent all my earlier years living, working and growing up in Thurrock, in Essex.
I am assuming that you have found this site by either following my blogs on the Family Tree Magazine website, or from my twitter account, or even that you might be searching the same names on your tree.
The main names that I am researching are as follows:
Chiddicks, all areas,
Daniels in Dublin
Keyes in Prittlewell, Essex
Wootton in Mansell Garnage in Herefordshire and London
Stampa in Edinburgh
Lukes in Gravesend, Kent
Luttman in London
In the coming weeks and months I hope to bring you both, some interesting family stories and biographies, plus also an insight into my ancestors lives and how they lived. I have a keen interest also in military history and WW1, so there will be a bias towards military history and some of the biographies of my family members will include war diaries and battalion movements.
Please feel free to comment, both positive and negative and all contributions are warmly welcomed. If you share an interest in any of the family names that I am researching please feel free to contact me.
I look forward to sharing stories, photographs and biographies of my family and I hope that if you have taken the time to read this far and you are still awake that you find my blog mildly interesting.
Please read my alternative guide to Family History blog at Family Tree Magazine.
