Wedding Cake

I posted a picture this week of a Chiddicks Family Wedding for the #52Ancestors weekly challenge and it proved very popular online and prompted a few conversations.

A very dear Genealogy friend from ‘across the pond’, Marian Burk Wood, posted a truly delightful picture of her Great Aunt in her Bridal Gown, which was made by her sister-in-law, a designer and expert seamstress.

This immediately reminded me of my Great Aunt who was a Professional Cake Maker and who made the Wedding Cake for my own parents Wedding, in 1961 and who also, aged 80, made the wonderful Wedding Cake for my own Wedding in 1988.

I thought I would share with you pictures of the wonderful cakes.

  2. Pocket squares are back in fashion so you are once again in style! But beautiful home-backed wedding cakes made with love by a dear relative are always in vogue and always welcome. Lovely post and photos!
