This week I was delighted to be a guest on Dr. Michala Hulme’s brand new podcast called ‘Unearth The Past’. Unearth The Past takes a fresh and fun look at both history and family history and each week host, Dr. Michala Hulme is joined by special guests and will discuss the latest family history news and record releases.
Dr Michala Hulme is an award-winning historian and professional genealogist from Manchester based at the University of Birmingham. Dr. Hulme’s personal research interests include living and dying in Victorian Britain, with a particular focus on the experience of the working classes, crime and street gangs. She has made over 80 appearances on various BBC Radio stations and have featured in national and regional TV programmes, such as NBC, CNN, Channel 4’s Britain’s Most Historic Towns, Channel 5’s This Week on the Farm, Channel 5’s How the Victorian’s Built Britain with Michael Buerk, Channel 4’s Great Canal Journeys, BBC’s Heir Hunters, Who Do You Think You Are?, Channel 4’s Genealogy Roadshow, BBC Breakfast, Channel 5 News, BBC News and Granada News. Alongside me on the show was another TV star and genealogical legend, Paul McNeil. Paul is one of the resident presenters and genealogical researchers on ITV’s DNA Journey, as well as being a professional genealogy researcher.
