I began researching my family tree around 15 years ago to initially find out more about my Father who died when I was three years old and I haven’t stopped searching yet. I also have a keen interest in Military History in particular WW1.

    Well done! For your first vlog it was so moving to hear the emotion of this. All media has its place but I can imagine this will be a treasure to some family member years after we all hit the ash heap.

    Your blogs often get me thinking (as you know), but this one got me thinking about loss. And how many of us who have made family history our passion do so from early loss. It’s as though we are trying to piece together a scattered puzzle for which we are missing the photo of what it’s supposed to look like.

    1. Thanks so much Kelly as you already know our paths have crossed many times as our work has brought us together on many different subjects over the years. We also share very similar views on most of these topics. On the subject of loss I never really appreciated how profound my loss was until I had children of my own, this really brought it home to me. Sometimes its the smallest of things that you miss the most, something as simple as going to the pub for the first time with your dad, all those things were lost to me.
